Support your PTA in the local CO-OP

We have a new Co-op fundraising initiative, in which Chancellor's School PTA, Brookmans Park School PTA & North Mymms Youth Project were all named as the three charities to receive funds from the Coop Local Commuity Fund until March 2017.

All you need to do is check out this pdf and follow the guidance to help raise funds for us and other local organisations.

We are delighted to join forces with North Mymms Youth Club and Brookmans Park PTA and announce a huge Party Night fetauring local band Bought & Sold, licensed bar and refreshements.

This is a great chance to catch up with friends old and new around the local area and have some fun.

Support us and come along.

Summer fun at the Carnival and Village Day

Potters Bar Carnival saw Chancellor’s having a stall for the first time this year. Brenda Heesom worked tirelessly to collect unwanted gifts from parents and friends to provide our stall with prizes for a ‘raffle’ game…. If you picked a number ending in a ‘0’ you won a tombola prize, and if it ended in a ‘5’ you could pick a football, or inflatable gift, which proved very popular with the children who all clambered to play our game! We also sold cakes donated by some very faithful parents who often bake cakes/cupcakes for us at many events, so a big thank you to them.

We were busy again the following week at Village Day, which proved just as successful, again we offered the raffle game, and for the first time this year we had a ‘Human Fruit Machine’ which involves three willing volunteers creating a lot of noise and each picking a piece of fruit out of a bucket and if all three pick the same fruit, a prize is won! This was very successful , and I would like to thank everyone who helped make this possible, and manning this event all afternoon.

As always it was a few people that did all the work to make both these fetes a success, they know who they are and I thank you all . The stalls raised a total of £288.10 all of which will go to enhance some area of your child's experience at Chancellors.

PTA supports the Science Department

The Science Department is very grateful to the PTA for donating £500 to buy a new thermostatic waterbath.  Waterbaths are essential for a variety of practicals across all science subjects and key stages and are mainly used to assess the effect of varying temperature on various biological and chemical reactions.  For example, students investigate the action of the digestive enzyme amylase, which is present in saliva and breaks down starch into sugars, or chemical reactions such as marble chips and acid. In physics, students may investigate temperature-dependent voltage in thermocouples.

This is a very welcome addition to the department, thank you!

New Sound & Lighting System funded by PTA

We are delighted to announce that we have agreed to fund the purchase of a new sound and lighting system for Chancellor’s School assembly hall

So many of you have enjoyed various events in the assembly hall such as school shows, music concerts, battle of the bands, PTA shows, as well as a multitude of other day and evening events there. Hopefully our decision to fund this project will ensure you can continue to enjoy these events for many years to come.

We would be grateful if you can like and share this news to show your support for this project.

We will keep you updated on our progress and you can hopefully enjoy it at the PTA Talent show in early July (if not before).
